Conner: Moses Lake High School Senior Photography

So in case you haven’t noticed, it’s been snowing here. A lot. But hey, when you’ve got the Moses Lake High School yearbook deadline breathing down your neck, you can’t wait around for the weather to cooperate. It’s January 12 in case you’re wondering.

Enter Conner. Six inches of new snow. No problem. Slippery roads and heavy fog. No problem. Snowed over photo locations. Well, you get the point. This guy wasn’t taking no for an answer. The result: awesome pictures. Anyone can get their senior portraits done when the weather is a balmy 85 degrees. But it takes an adventurous soul, and lets face it, a little bit of healthy procrastination, to get pictures as cool as the weather in December.

Ah fall. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways: Beautiful golden rosy light, lovely colors, not so darn hot out, and the start of a new school year. And what do you get with a new school year? A whole new crop of high school seniors ready to rule the school! Lol, the “Glory Days” song is not currently running through my head. Well maybe just a little. I mean really, who can tune out the Boss?

But I digress. Meet the lovely miss Victoria. She’s a newly crowned Chiawana High School senior. We got together on a beautiful fall day to capture her senior pictures. She was up for anything and brought the perfect accessories to match any look. Love, love, love her collection of headbands. Super cute!

Meet the lovely Miss “N”. This star athlete is so excited about starting her Senior year at Kamiakan High School. She’s such a doll too. She made my job easy and fun as we spent a sweltering summer evening capturing her senior portraits. You’d never know it was well over 95 degrees out. In fact, the only hard part for me was deciding which images to show off here on the blog. She looked absolutely gorgeous in all of them. Poor photographer, such a dilemma to be in. LOL

Perhaps you remember miss Shaysta from earlier in the year. We did a quick senior portrait session to make the Moses Lake High School yearbook deadline. We’ll now that’s it’s finally warmed up, we got to go out and tear it up for the rest of her session. Not only did Shaysta bring her welding helmet (check out the flames), but she brought along her boyfriend for a few snaps too. I fondly call that last image of the two of them “Love in the Apocalypse.” Hehe.

Meet the fabulous miss Kimberly an Othello, Wash. native. She’s graduating this year from Washington State University with a Math Degree. That’s right folks, brains and beauty; a deadly combination. What’s next for Kimberly? She’s off to an internship at Hanford followed by grad school. Watch out world, this girl is going places!

Meet ShaystaMoon. This lovely Moses Lake High School senior is just about one of the coolest teenagers I’ve met. I’m doing my typical chatting a mile a minute to get to know her while I take her senior pictures. “So Shaysta,” I ask. “What do you like to do for fun? What’s your hobby?” Here I’m expecting the typical sports or general hobby response. But no, not miss Shaysta.

“I like to weld,” she responds casually.

What!? That’s just about the coolest response I’ve gotten to date. That’s awesome! She’s making a giant flying metal pig for her Senior Project. Now that, is something I have to see.

Anyway, this was just a quick photo shoot so she’d have a picture in time for the yearbook deadline. This spring we are going to tear it up for her full Summerland Photography Senior Session. Stay tuned. Maybe I’ll make her bring her welding gear. Now that would be something to see.

Devon : Othello Senior Photography

Devon was definitely having a good week when we did his Senior photos. His football team had just annihilated their opponent that Friday night. It looks like this three-sport athlete is in for a good Senior year. Speaking of Devon being a good sport, we had an awesome time with his photos as we took advantage of one of the last beautiful days of summer.

Meet Kayla, my Othello High School Senior Ambassador. The youngest of three, she’s super excited about becoming a senior this year. She’s very active at her school, and her many accomplishments both academically and athletically make her a natural to represent Summerland Photography. Kayla and I headed into the nearby Columbia National Wildlife Refuge to get these awesome photos of her. Who says you can’t hike in flip flops?
